FreeDict interface to linguistic ontologies Piotr Bański http://freedict.org/ $Id$

This interface has been created in order to make it possible to align the linguistic information in FreeDict dictionaries. See the fra-eng (French - English) dictionary, v. 0.3.3, for the first working example. See the kha-deu (Khasi - German) dictionary for a broader application. The xml:id values obey the pattern: f_[category]_[value], where categories are meant to be very general and associated with the particular TEI elements (although note that part-of-speech values can just as well be found as contents of the <subc> element. The leading "f_" serves to group them for e.g. autocompletion purposes. It is hoped that the label list is going to grow. We might actually derive a multilingual terminological dictionary this way :-) And we might submit that to both the GOLD and ISOCat. To do: add a feature structure declaration. Implement Schematron checks for individual dictionaries.

Created in electronic form

Expanded the i18n part to accommodate default short labels. I'm not sure about some of the Polish ones... possibly, latin abbreviations may be more common ('inter' for "wykrzyknik"??) A few more additions of category references; skipped the ISO-DCR parts for now. Converted to a free-standing document. Created as an inclusion to the FreeDict fra-eng dictionary.
